Lower 7®: Efficient solution to acidify irrigation water –University of Almería, Spain-

The following trial, established by the University of Almeria on pepper crops cultivated in greenhouse, carried out an analysis between Lower 7® and other conventional acids on the properties of the soil such as pH, EC, S.A.R., nutrients availability, etc.

The results obtained confirm the benefits of Lower 7 as opposed to other acids such as nitric acid. This study highlights the greater acidifying power, neutralization power of HCO3- anions and a decrease in the sodium concentration of the fertilising solution, estimated to be 24% and 22% of S.A.R. and adjusted S.A.R. (see figure 1) respectively, with the application of Lower 7 in relation to this type of acid.

Furthermore, Lower 7 improved in a significant manner the EC of the soil solution, revealing a boosting effect of soil fertility by means of the solubilisation of elements such as calcium, potassium and magnesium.

Finally, the advantages with regard to the convenience and ease in the handling of the product should be highlighted, since the technology used in the manufacturing process by Tradecorp makes it possible to obtain a product which, without losing its acid nature, presents maximum safety.
