New Spanish legislation has been passed and published
The new Royal Decree (RD 824/2005) on fertilizers has just been passed and published in Spain. This complements the current European legislation: Regulation (CE) nš 2003/2003.
As such, EC fertilizers are principally governed by the European legislation, and the new Spanish legislation is used to control the following fertilizers: 1. National inorganic fertilizers 2. Organic fertilizers 3. Organic-mineral fertilizers 4. Other fertilizers and special products 5. Limestone amendments 6. Organic amendments 7. Other amendments
Furthermore, this Royal Decree, as is the case with the European regulation, endeavours to establish stricter measures to govern the quality of fertilizer manufacture so as to ensure the safety of people and the environment.
